Ahmose-Sitamun (ancient Egyptian: ỉꜥḥ-ms zꜣt-ỉmn, "Born of the Moon, Daughter of Amun") was an ancient Egyptian Princess of the Eighteenth Dynasty during the New Kingdom.
Titles[]
Ahmose-Sitamun is known to have held the titles God's Wife (ḥmt-ntr), King's Daughter (sꜣt-nswt) and King's Sister (snt-nswt).[1]
Family[]
Ahmose-Sitamun was a daughter of Pharaoh Ahmose II and Queen Ahmose-Nefertari. Her brothers include; Ahmose-Ankh, Amenhotep I and perhaps Ahmose-Sipair, though the latter might be her uncle.[1] Ahmose-Meritamen was her older sister.
Burial[]
The whereabouts of Ahmose-Sitamun's tomb and mummy remain unknown. Her mummy was discovered in 1881 in the royal cache at Deir el-Bahari and is now in the Egyptian Museum in Cairo.
