Crocodilopolis (Koine Greek: Κροκοδείλων πόλις), or Semenet in ancient Egyptian (transliteration: s-mn.t), is an ancient Egyptian city in Upper Egypt, located on the west bank of the Nile. It was governed under Waset, the fourth nome of Upper Egypt. Crocodilopolis housed the most prominent early-Middle Kingdom sanctuary of the crocodile-god Sobek.[1]
