Gebel el-Silsila (Arabic: جبل السلسلة), or Kheny in ancient Egyptian (transliteration: ẖny), was very important ancient Egyptian sandstone quarry, situated on the west bank of the Nile, 15km north of Kom Ombo, where the cliffs on both sides close to the narrowest point along the length of the entire Nile. It was governed under Ta-Seti, the first nome of Upper Egypt.
