Great Chief of the Ma or Meshwesh (ancient Egyptian: wr-mr-mꜥ or wr-mr-mꜥ-šꜣ-wꜣ-šꜣ.w) was an ancient Egyptian occupational title held by the chieftain or leader of the Meshwesh, an ancient Libyan Berber tribe. The tribe migrated into the Nile Delta at the end of the New Kingdom, their chiefs entering Egyptian nobility in the 21st Dynasty. The Meshwesh chiefs came to rule Egypt throughout the 22nd and 23rd Dynasties.
