Imhotep (transliteration: ỉ-m-ḥtp, meaning: "Coming in Peace") was an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh of the Ninth or Tenth Dynasty during the First Intermediate Period. He ruled from Heracleopolis in Middle Egypt.
Imhotep's exact chronological position in the 9th or 10th dynasty remains unknown. He is merely known from two rock inscriptions in the Wadi Hammamat. These mention a certain prince Djaty as his eldest son.
