Isetnofret' (transliteration: st-nfr.t, meaning: "Isis is Beautiful") was a Princess of the Nineteenth Dynasty during the New Kingdom. Isetnofret is merely known from a single mention in the Leiden ship log.[1]
Family[]
Isetnofret was probably the daughter of Pharaoh Merenptah,[2] born and raised during the reign of her grandfather, Ramesses II. Queen Isetnofret II was presumably her mother, however, this is only based on their identical names and is not supported by other evidence. If so, Prince Khaemwaset might have been her maternal-grandfather. Isetnofret's brother succeeded their father as Seti II and she had two more brothers named Merenptah and Khaemwaset. The later pharaohs; Amenmesses, Siptah and Tausret have also been proposed as possible (half-)siblings.
Burial[]
The whereabouts of Isetnofret's tomb and mummy remain unknown.
