Nebkhasetnebet (ancient Egyptian: nb-ḫꜣ-st-nb.t) was a Prince of the Nineteenth Dynasty during the New Kingdom.
Family[]
Nebkhasetnebet was believed to be the eldest son of Pharaoh Seti I and Queen Tuya.[1] and grandson of Ramesses I and Sitre. He had one younger brother Ramesses II who succeeded their father, as well as two younger sisters named Tia and Henutmire (although according to another theory she was his niece).
Biography[]
Seti I supposedly designated Nebkhasetnebet heir to the throne and sent him to Heliopolis for further education. However, he is believed to have died shortly afterwards. After his death, at the start of his father Seti's reign, it was his 15-year-old younger brother Ramesses who was appointed Crown Prince and later coregent by their father.[2]
Burial[]
The whereabouts of Nebkhasetnebet's tomb and mummy remain unknown.
