Nespaneferher (transliteration: ns-pꜣ-nfr-ḥr, meaning: "The One who Belongs to the Beautiful Face") was an ancient Egyptian priest of the Twenty-first Dynasty during the Third Intermediate Period.
Family[]
Nespaneferher is a son of the High Priest of Amun Pinedjem I. The identity of his mother remains unknown. His (half-)brothers include the later pharaoh Psusennes I and their father's successors as High Priest; Masaharta, Djedkhonsiuefankh and Menkheperre. One of his (half-)sisters, Maatkare, became God's Wife of Amun.
Attestations[]
Strangely, the 17th son in the procession of princes of Herihor in the temple of Khonsu at Karnak was erased and replaced with Nespaneferher by Pinedjem I.[1] Perhaps Pinedjem held a grudge against this particular son of his predecessor. However, this remains speculation.
Burial[]
The whereabouts of Nespaneferher's tomb and mummy remain unknown.
