Nubia was a region to the south of Egypt. Nubia was home to several empires, most prominently the kingdom of Kush.
Early Dynastic Egypt[]
During the reign of Narmer pottery sherds from Nubia have been discovered bearing his serekh but there seems to be invasion of the country. The reign of Hor-Aha may show the initial invasion of Nubia mentioned on a label from Abydos[1] where the country is first mentioned as the 'T3-sety'[2].
