Usermaatre-Setepenamun Osorkon II (transliteration: wsỉrkn) is an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh of the Twenty-second Dynasty during the Third Intermediate Period. He ruled from approximately 872 to 837 BC from Tanis. His authority in Upper Egypt was undermined in the first decade of his reign by a rival king called Horsaiset, who was his cousin.
Name[]
Osorkon II assumed the throne name (or prenomen) Usermaatre-Setepenamun (transliteration: wsr-mꜢꜤt-rꜤ stp-n-ỉmn, meaning: "Powerful Justice of Re, Chosen of Amun"), which appears to emulate that of Ramesses the Great. Osorkon II added an epithet Sibastet (zꜢ-bꜤst.t, "Son of Bast") to his birth name (nomen).
