Panopolis (Koine Greek: Πανὸς πόλις) or Chemmis (Χεμμις), also Ipu in ancient Egyptian (transliteration: ı͗pw), is an ancient Egyptian city on the east bank of the Nile, located in Upper Egypt. It was the capital city of Min, the ninth nome of Upper Egypt. The ancient settlement is located at the modern city of Akhmim (Arabic: أخميم).
