The Mortuary temple of Ramesses II, better known as the Ramesseum, is the mortuary temple of Pharaoh Ramesses II of the Nineteenth Dynasty during the New Kingdom. It is located on the west bank of the Nile river at the Theban Necropolis in Upper Egypt, across from the modern city of Luxor (ancient Thebes).
