Royal Standardbearer was an ancient Egyptian occupational title held by a high official close to the pharaoh. The titleholder accompanied the pharaoh, often carrying a standard (flag or other symbol representing the state), in the presence of guests to his palace, on festival parades, or trips across the country to visit temples and palaces. They might have even carried the standard beside the pharaoh towards the battlefield.
