Shu is the primordial god of air, wind, peace, and lions. As the air Shu is a calming influence, pacifier, and cooling as god of air. Shu is part of The Ennead of Heliopolis. Atum-Ra made Shu and his twin sister Tefnut as the first ones in existence after creation. Shu and Tefnut married and became the parents of Geb, the earth-god, and Nut, the sky-goddess. Shu was hence the grandfather of Osiris, Isis, Set, and Nephthys.
