Tell Nebesha is the site of Imyt (ancient Egyptian: ỉmyt), an Ancient Egyptian city in Lower Egypt, located on the west bank of the Pelusiac branch of the Nile in the eastern Nile Delta. It was the provincial capital of Amti-Pehut, the nineteenth nome of Lower Egypt. However, it lost this function to Avaris at the start of the Second Intermediate Period.
